Amazon Rainforest

Spend 2, 3, or 4 days in the Amazon, and discover the lush rain forests containing nearly 40,000 plant species and an incomparable variety of animals and birds. Choose between private cabins with fans or air conditioning to enjoy the most of this Amazonian adventure. Visit Jungle Lodge Anaconda Island Inn on the banks of the Rio Negro. Use the guest lounge, swimming pool, and restaurant, with rooms with mosquito screens and natural water showers. Enjoy daily breakfast buffet features seasonal fruits and juices, bread, milk, and coffee. Lunch and dinner feature grilled meat or chicken, regional fish, salads, pasta, rice, juices, and soft drinks. Day 1: Start with pickup from the lobby of your hotel and travel from Manaus by speed boat to Cacau Pirera. Travel by car to the village of Paricatuba. From this village, travel by motorized canoe to the Lodge. After lunch, with the bilingual guide, take a canoe trip through small creeks and go fishing for piranhas. A nocturnal expedition will allow you to see alligators and other wildlife that are hidden during the daytime.   Day 2: Enjoy breakfast, followed by an educational jungle walk. During the walk, the guide will teach you about medicinal plants and the trees of the Amazon rainforest. The high altitude means different plant life, bigger trees, and denser forest. After this, return to the lodge for lunch and free time for swimming in the tea-colored waters of the Rio Negro. If a 3 or 4-day option booked, take a paddling canoe trip through small channels (Igarapés) or flooded lands (Igapós), depending on the season. Day 3 (optional): Take an early sunrise tour, breakfast, and then visit the home of local natives. These "Caboclos" maintain a traditional lifestyle and they are proud people who are happy to share their way of living. Here the guide will also explain about local farming techniques. If 4-day option is booked, have lunch, and depart for overnight camping in the jungle with a local guide. The experienced jungle guide will show you all you need to know about extracting everything that is needed from the rainforest without destroying it. There will also be an opportunity to see some wildlife and you will be able to listen to the chorus of birds, howler monkeys, and other animals at night. Day 4 (optional): Have breakfast in the jungle, and then travel back to the lodge. After lunch, you will have free time to swim in the tea-colored waters of the Rio Negro. Prepare to travel back to Manaus, arriving in the late afternoon.

Spend a day in the Amazon, the world’s largest river basin and the source of one-fifth of all free-flowing fresh water on Earth. Its rainforests are the planet’s largest and most luxuriant, and home to – amazingly – one in ten of Earth's known species. Containing nearly 40,000 plant species, the Amazon sustains the world’s richest diversity of birds, freshwater fish and butterflies. One of the world’s last refuges for jaguars, harpy eagles and pink dolphins, its thousands of tree species are home to southern two-toed sloths, pygmy marmosets and Goeldi’s monkeys. Your tour will begin with a pick-up at your Manaus hotel, or airport. From there you will enjoy a boat cruise to Lake January to see the meeting of the waters at Negro and Amazon Rivers. Switch to canoes and enter the waterway for dolphin observation and to visit the famous Victoria Regia water lilies. Sail by speedboat to an indigenous village, where you will interact with the indigenoue peoples of the Dessanos and Tucanos. Visit a jungle pharmacy and watch villagers going about their daily activities. Meet the shaman of the tribe, and see and purchase lovely handmade indigenous handicrafts.

Enjoy an amazing adventure through the beautiful and diverse Amazon Jungle to the enigmatic Ipanema River area, spotting the unique Amazonian flora and fauna. Pension of the Ipanema is 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Manaus, an approximate driving time of 3 hours by car and speedboat. The Lodge is on the banks of the Negro River and has a guest lounge area, restaurant, and seating for up to 50 guests. After being picked up from your hotel in Manaus, venture deep into Amazon jungle on a 1-day excursion. Start the tour by marveling at the incredible cascade of water at the Presidente Figueiredo waterfalls. Go inside the Gruta do Refugio cave, a captivating natural formation home to native wildlife such as alligators, turtles, fish, and bats. Explore the stunning cave, swim in the refreshing water, and learn about the area’s ecology from your professional guide. A shallow stream runs through the entire cave, providing a serene background for your expedition. Outside, beautiful waterfalls transport you to a jungle paradise straight out of a dream. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant which is included in the price of the tour. At the end of the trip, enjoy a convenient return transfer back to your hotel in Manaus.

Day 1: Start your journey with a pickup at 07:00 am from Manaus. Head to Ceasa Port and board a speedboat. Cruise down the Rio Negro, stopping at the Meeting of Waters. Continue for an hour and a half by car to cachoeira do castanho. From there get in another speedboat you'll continue your journey by speedboat with a stop where you will interaction with River dolphins and visit the indigenous Village You will have a chance to learn more about their way of life in the Amazon for 1 hour a one-hour ride to reach the lodge. Relax with refreshments while your hosts prepare your accommodations. Enjoy lunch and some free time before heading out by motorized canoe for piranha fishing and birdwatching. Marvel at the sunset from the middle of the river before returning to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, depart by motorized canoe to search for Cayman and learn more about this most-feared reptile of the Amazonian. Day 2: Enjoy breakfast at 7:00 A.M. before setting off on a morning jungle trek. As you hike, learn about the flora, fauna, and medicinal plants found only in the Amazon from your guide. Return to the lodge around noon for lunch. Then, at 2:30 pm, you’ll set off to explore the archipelago of Anavilhanas by boat. From February to August, this trip is made by walking in the jungle, as it is the dry season. On the way back, you’ll have the chance to witness a stunning sunset. Day 3: At 5:30 am, you’ll have the chance to experience the beauty of nature as it awakens with the song of birds and other creatures. After a delicious breakfast (8 am-11 am), you’ll explore the local streams by boat. Then, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the local community and learn more about their culture and living along the Negro River.If you have chosen the 3day option, begin your journey back to Manaus after lunch.If you have chosen a longer tour, head out on a boat trip to the Anavilhanas Arquipelagos to explore the region, enjoy birdwatching, and look for monkeys and other animals. During the dry season from September to April, go on a hike in the area. Return to the lodge to spend the night. Day 4: Begin your day with breakfast at 7:00 A.M. After breakfast, hop in a small boat and explore the small channel (igarape) for wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch. If you have chosen the 4-day option, begin your journey back to Manaus after lunch. If you have chosen the 5-day option, enjoy some free time at the lodge before heading out to camp overnight in the jungle. Spend the night in hammocks with mosquito nets and enjoy dinner cooked in the jungle over a campfire. Day 5:  Start your day with a delicious breakfast in the Amazon jungle! Afterward, we will embark on a guided hike to explore the unique flora and fauna of the region. Afterward, head back for a delicious lunch at the lodge. At 2:00 pm, we’ll begin our journey back to Manaus, arriving at 4:30 pm.

Utilize the mode of transportation used most by locals and hop on a boat going down the Amazon. After pickup from your accommodation in Manaus, you’ll head down to the dock for your 36-hour journey to Santarém. Choose between options to stay on a hammock, or upgrade to a private, 2-person cabin with air conditioning and a private bathroom. Gaze out across the mighty Amazon as you float down the river during your voyage. Look out for unique flora and fauna. Once you arrive in Santarém, stay in town, or select transportation to Alter do Chão.

This boat was built using traditional Amazon techniques. It is 50 feet long and almost 10 feet tall. It has 2 bathrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen, 1 cabin with 2 twin beds and plenty of space to tie a hammock. The second floor is used for meals and observation only, but guests can also tie a hammock there. The boat accommodates a maximum of 15 people in hammocks and 2 people sleeping in the cabin. During the 3 or 4-day cruise (depending on which option you pick), the local crew will prepare typical Amazon dishes for your meals. You can enjoy sunset cocktails on the upper deck while listening to the amazing sounds of the Amazon jungle. At the stops along the route, native English-speaking guides will show you the amazing variety of the Amazon’s wildlife. Day 1: After a hotel pick-up in Manaus, enjoy a boat tour to Janauri Ecological Park and a jungle hike where you can spot huge Samauma trees, giant water lilies, and alligators. After lunch, get back on the water to Acajatuba Lake and swim with pink and grey river dolphins before enjoying dinner. Day 2: Get started with a sunrise tour to the Anavilhanas Archipelago and a hike before fishing for piranha and other fish. After dinner, you’ll have the thrilling opportunity to spot alligators in their natural habitat. Day 3 (for the 3-Day option): Visit a native family to observe manioc production and see tropical fruit trees. You’ll arrive back in Manaus at 5:00 PM. Day 3 (for the 4-Day option): Spot monkeys and sloths from a canoe before learning survival techniques for the jungle. Day 4: After exploring Tupé beach, visit an indigenous community where you’ll get to see incredible tribal dances. Arrive back in Manaus at 5 PM.

Get picked at your hotel at 8:30 AM in the morning, and be driven by a motorized canoe for few kilometers from Manaus. Arrive in the jungle and go on an educational jungle walking tour for about 3 hours. During the walk, your guide will teach you about medicinal plants and the trees of the Amazon rainforest. See the cast flora and fauna of the Amazon Rainforest, like scorpions, spiders, snakes and so on.  Then, visit the Anavilhanas Archipelago, which is the biggest and largest freshwater archipelago in the world. The Anavilhanas Archipelago is found on the Rio Negro, 70 kilometers upstream from Manaus where the Rio Solimoes and Rio Negro join as one river. At its widest, the river is measured at 27 kilometers wide. Later, lunch can be prepared depending on the season on the beach, in the jungle during the trek or, if rainy, can be prepared in the floating house. Experiment with local food fish “Peacock Bass or Tambaqui” with the famous manioc and rice. Arrive back in Manaus at 4:30 PM.

Explore the Amazon jungle on this multi-day trip with your guide. Travel by speedboat and canoe, trek through the jungle, sleep outside on a hammock, and more. Experience life with a family from the area and spot all types of insects, animals, and plant life. Day 1:At 7:00 AM you are transferred from your hotel to the Ceasa port where a speed boat takes tourists to the meeting of the waters, the point where the Rio Negro and Solimões Rivers meet. During the Journey, there is a stop to visit the Fish Farm of the Arapaima gigas (pirarucu). From there you are taken to the Careiro Village on the other side of the Solimões River. The excursion continues by car (van) for about one hour to the Mamori River.  A final trip by speedboat takes you to the lodge, arriving there at approximately 11:30 AM. At 03:00 PM, the activities begin. Leave the lodge by canoe for dolphin and bird watching, and piranha fishing, and end the day watching a spectacular sunset around 6:30 PM, and then head back to the lodge for dinner. At night, you will enjoy a thrilling experience of Cayman spotting. Day 2:At 5:30 AM, you are taken by canoe to watch the sunrise of a new day in the Amazon rainforest. Return to the lodge around 7 AM for breakfast. Shortly after, you will do a jungle trek that takes up the rest of the morning. During the walk much is learned about medicinal plants, trees, and insects such as spiders and there is even a chance of seeing monkeys. If the 3, 4, or 5-day option is booked, the afternoon activity starts at 3 PM. Spend some hours quietly passing through the Amazon jungle on a canoe while observing the flora and fauna explained to you by native guides. During the dry season, this trip is done on foot, since there is no water from August to March. When we finish, it’s back to the lodge for dinner. Day 3:From 8 AM-11 AM, visit the home of a local family to learn about their simple but fantastic way of life in the forest. Return to the lodge for lunch, if the 3-day option is booked, and depart for Manaus at approximately 1:30 PM, arriving at approximately 4:30 PM. If the 4 or 5-day option is booked, explore the small channels and spot some birds, monkeys, Caymans, and dolphins. At 3:00 PM, leave the lodge to sleep out in the Amazon. Your guide will provide you with hammocks and mosquito nets to camp and help you prepare dinner in a remote part of the jungle. After dinner, you will have the chance to do some spearfishing. Day 4:Learn survival techniques and plenty of facts about the forest. Have the opportunity to trek, and canoe. Return to the lodge, where lunch is served. If the 4-day option is booked, leave for Manaus after lunch, and arrive at around 4:30 PM. If the 5-day option is booked, prepare yourself to camp out in the woods and spend the night in the forest escorted by a professional guide. Day 5:Return to the lodge at around 11 AM. After enjoying lunch, leave at 1 PM from the lodge. Head back to Manaus and arrive at 4:30 PM to 5 PM.

A tour combining piranha fishing and alligator spotting is a good option for those who want to enjoy an exciting and authentic Amazon experience. This adventure begins at the river terminal in Manaus, where you will board the boat bound for the coast of Iranduba. On the journey you will explore more of Manaus including the palafitas (stilt houses), the landscape, the local fishermen, and the ribeirinhos (native people). Upon arrival in Iranduba, you will look for a good place to go piranha fishing. The Solimões River is much richer in fish that the Rio Negro and you are likely to catch various types of catfish. Here you can enjoy fishing with a rod made of bamboo and learn how the native Caboclos people fish. When it starts to get dark, you will head off in search of alligator. The naturalist guide will do his best to capture an alligator with his bare hands so you can take a close look at the fascinating animal. After providing information about the alligator, the instructor will then return the animal back to its natural habitat.
