From Naples or Sorrento: Amalfi Coast Full-Day Trip

Very good tour. The meeting point was easy to find. The guide Roberto was already waiting there, he was very knowledgeable and great fun. Together the whole group walked to the bus parking spot where we left around 9:20. 1st stop was Positano, we walked down to the beach together and had an hour free time to spend. There was actually a photo spot on the way to Positano where we stayed for a couple of minutes as well. The speed boat wasn't possible due to bad wheather and rain, so we drove from Positano to Amalfi by bus. In Amalfi we had around 2 hours to spend. A part of the group went for a lunch with Roberto. We continued our journey with the bus to Ravello, the 3rd and final stop. Again, we had around 1 hour to spend. As with the other places, Roberto exlplained the place, the free time and the meeting point first. It's possible to visit Villa Rufolo there. The way back to Sorrento is on a different road inland with a view of the Vesuv. We were back in Sorrento at 18:15.

We enjoyed all three towns but Positano and Amalfi were extremely focused on making a buck from tourists. I highly recommend visiting the Amalfi cathedral and the boat tour of the area. There were very few tourists in Ravello, which was beautiful. We loved Villa Rufolo and will definitely be back since there wasn’t enough time to take it all in. Francesca was a wonderful guide, she not only gave us the history of each town or site, but also gave us recommendations of what to see in each city, how to get there and where to find the best restaurants or local products. At the end of the tour, she also sent us recommendations for Sorrento and Naples along with train and bus schedules, which were very helpful. We ate at three places she recommended and they were amazing. Our driver, Ciro, demonstrated his skill and prudence navigating the curvy, steep and often narrow mountain roads. I come from a country with similar roads so I truly appreciate his fantastic driving.
