I went at the beginning of December and luckily for me it wasn't as cold or windy as it had been just a few days before. As a solo traveller, I was able to sit at the front of the 4x4 and listen to my guide and ask questions as and when needed. The rest of the group were Spanish and so as I understand Spanish I was able to keep up with the information being provided by the lovely guide who was more that happy to translate in English whenever I needed it. The guide was really good and provides a lot information about the desert and as she speaks French, Spanish and English fluently, I could see why there have been so many good reviews about her and this excursion. I would definitely recommend it.

This was a fantastic tour of the Tabernas desert that allowed us to experience it in its true beauty without getting too touristy or entering one of the theme parks. As you can imagine, getting properly into the desert without a 4x4 is basically impossible, unless you're willing to do some major hiking (no fun in July or August), so this is a somewhat unique opportunity. Cristina was a great, informative guide and has some seriously impressive 4x4 driving skills, fearlessly going across all kinds of terrain. She is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to Tabernas and gave just the right amount of info about geology and the Westerns filmed, allowing for some time for us to explore each area without being over-bearing like a lot of tour guides tend to be.
