Full description
See the largest visitable geode in the world in the mine of El Pilar de Jaravía, Pulpí. This mine was one of the most important locations in Spain for its mineral wealth from 1840 until the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s. Learn about the extraction of minerals such as iron and lead. During the first phase of the visit, observe the remains of these minerals that are still seen in the access galleries. Enter the mine see the Giant Geode which has dimensions of 8 meters in length and 2 meters in height covered by huge plaster crystals that have been formed over the years. Enjoy a walk through history and observe one of the great wonders of nature. Your guide will explain the economic importance of the mine in decades past, and how the Geode and other crystals were formed.  Finally, you can visit the nearby castle of San Juan de los Terreros, located about 10 minutes by car from the Pilar de Jaravía. An entrance ticket to the site is included with this package, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the coastline and surrounding town.

To start everything very well organized and Belen the very professional and knowledgeable guide of the place. I was very excited to see the Geode because I did not calculate the distance and we traveled 120 kms from Almeria there and back, but it was very worth it !! Thanks

The experience has been incredible. La Geoda is one of the most incredible wonders we have in Spain and it is a must-see. In addition, the management of getyourguide has been very good. Family trip organized by Italy It is a unique show in the world that really deserves to be visited, it should be one of the wonders of the earth! Visiting it was a unique emotion for the whole family, the GEODE is such a beautiful and unique thing that you cannot describe all the beauty and emotion it conveys!
