Almeria: Alcazaba Guided Tour

We adored this tour! Almeria is definitely one spot for culture and this is a must do! Eva (I think that was her name) is very informative and engaging with us. Would definitely recommend 10/10

Our young guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the Moorish fortress and we enjoyed the tour very much. She was very kind and a pleasure to be with. We learnt a great deal. Thank you so much.

Considering our tour guide was new to the job, I found her very sweet and has the potential to be a great historian. Her English improved as the tour went on and she had a great sense of humour. The work being done on the castle was impressive. I was a little disappointed that the moors were depicted as white in the paintings when they were in fact black Africans suggesting there is a shame around the truth. Also the word Moor was never used. So that part, a very important part had been whitewashed. It is a part of history, a great history that should be embraced not hidden. However, I was impressed with what I did learn and felt proud of what the moors achieved and the knowledge they imparted to the world.
