Itinerary (Departures from Lisbon)
Serra da Arrábida
Enjoy the wonderful scenery and content of the mountains. You will undoubtedly be dazzled, one of the most incredible and profoundly beautiful places in Portugal. Passionate and breathtaking.
During this trip we will stop to absorb the beauty of the landscape and its history. In one of its many corners we will find a treasure, the Convento da Arrábida, considered to be the outskirts of heaven, a unique and mystical place.
São Domingos viewpoint
Our tour will start at the São Domingos viewpoint, where we will have our first immersive look at what we will be visiting during the day.
Instead of a paper map, you will have a live map.
Livramento Market
Considered one of the best fish markets in the world in 2015. Inside, the tiles by Pedro Pinto, dating from 1929 depicting the city's agricultural and fishing activities stand out.
Get ready for a sensory experience of colors, fragrances and flavors. We will find fish of many varieties, fruit, vegetables, and aromatic herbs. An intense and dynamic stage with local producers and products.
Convent of Jesus
In the heart of the city is the illustrious Convent of Jesus, dating from the 15th century (1490). It was the first convent of Manueline architecture and one of the few that survived the 1755 earthquake.
The work is documented and stylistically attributed to the Manueline architect Boitaca.
Its atmosphere reminds us of peace and silence, but also of the complexity of the Manueline style alluding to the golden age of the Portuguese discoveries.
An intricate and enigmatic style, an art where symbolism is present in every detail of its movement.
We will be able to see the Arrábida breccia, one of the stones from the Arrábida mountain that was considered a world heritage in 2021.
Lunch Break
Stop off at Setúbal's dockside promenade, where you can choose one of the many restaurants where you're sure to find fresh fish from the region, not forgetting the irresistible and crunchy fried cuttlefish, a traditional dish of this city. In any of the restaurants you'll enjoy the view of the blue river, the Sado.
After our wonderful lunch, we will continue our journey to a picturesque village called Azeitão.
This region has always been known for its wines and cheeses. It was also a resting place for the nobility due to its particular and privileged climate and proximity to Lisbon.
In Azeitão we will visit:
Tiles from Azeitão
A visit to an artisan workshop in a very intimate and familiar setting where we will learn about tiles in a traditional way, from their origin, how they are made, the meaning of their colors, ornamentation and the final product.
Wine tasting at Quinta de Alcube
Tasting of five wines (two white, two red and one late harvest).
