Full description

Depart Seville and journey to the city of Granada to take a tour of the historic Alhambra, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural importance and architectural beauty. Benefit from the services of an official tour guide and expert interpreter of the heritage of the city and fortress, built for the Nasrid emirs who ruled Spain in the 13th and 14th centuries.

Marvel at the fortifications of the Alcazaba (citadel), built to protect the city's post-Roman districts, including the Moorish suburb of "El Albayzín." Admire the beauty of the Nasrid Palaces and Generalife, the summer pleasure gardens of the Emir. Next, drive to the center of Granada for lunch (own expense). Then, take a guided walk of the UNESCO-protected Albaicín district where the winding streets are reflective of its Medieval Moorish past.

Stroll past whitewashed houses and encounter age-old churches and flower-filled balconies. Stop to take in the spectacular panoramas over the Alhambra fortress perched on its hill.  Return to Seville at the end of your historical adventure, and get dropped off at your original starting point.

Breathtaking and a real gem! I wasn't prepared for how grand it would be though so I would advise giving yourself 2-3 hours minimum to explore the full grounds and maybe relax in the garden. I opted for an audioguide which stopped working half way through and in all honesty, it wasn't that comprehensive so perhaps a guide tour would have been better. They also held onto my passport until I returned the audioguide. Bear in mind that they're quite strict on timings. Overall, a wonderful experience and was worth the visit. I'll be going again.

It was a little pricy, but it was my first time visiting Spain and I really want to see Alhambra. Pedra, our guide is superb! Energetic, willing to show you things along the way, even on the bus trip to make the 3 hour bus feel slightly shorter. Overall, it is a good group trip.

Overall, a pretty good experience. I was disappointed when I realized we were going on a big bus in a big group (40+ people). And indeed it seemed an unseemly thing for dozens of us to pour out onto the narrow streets of the sleepy Albaicin, gawking at a town where there were more of us than there were locals in the main plaza. Thankfully at the Alhambra we were split into smaller groups and we had a guide who was rather knowledgable and told us lots about the architecture as well as the history of Spain and Granada. We got 3 hours at the Alhambra, which was plenty of time to take in the main sites without feeling rushed. The tour overall has clearly been run many times and was very well organized. I just would have preferred it if we'd been a group of 8-12 people vs 40+.
