Full description
Explore the plant and animal wildlife outside Faro on a 1.5-hour trip through the nearby Rio Formosa Natural Park. There, you will take a Segway tour of the reserve and spend time bird watching at Ludo, a natural reserve near Faro Beach, located inside the park. This area is a stopping place for hundreds of different birds during the spring and autumn migratory periods. The entire park is a protected area and home to several marine species and birds. It is a very special and quiet place where you can be in direct contact with nature. After pick-up, you will be taken to the park and given a Segway to use. This 2-wheeled electric vehicle uses the equilibrium of its driver to propel forward. Once you have been instructed how to operate your Segway, you will head out on the paths and trails in the park and discover the beauty and tranquility of this reserve. As you ride along, your guide will point out various animal species for you, exposing you to the natural and protected life of the region.

Meeting point

If you've arrived at Faro Airport, you'll notice that you'll have a roundabout with some statues looking at the sky just when you leave the airport. In the roundabout there are 3 exits: 1 for the airport, 1 for Faro city, and the last one to the beach. Follow the one to the beach (if you are leaving the airport, it's the exit on the left). Follow the road to the beach and stop at the first corner to the right. We will be there waiting for you with a couple of Segways and a white van with some colored circles and Segways as part of its design.

Me and my 10 year old daughter had the most perfect time together. At first we thought it would me a bit hard to find our balance on the Segway, but within less then 10min our guide proofed us wrong. It was such a fun thing to do and we specially enjoyed the route through nature, the addition information during the journey and of coarse seeing amazing contemporary architecture. We will be back!!!

Great two hours with Nelson and white flamingos!

This Segway tour was wonderfully organized! Our two guides were very nice and courteous and treated the ten participants exceptionally friendly. After a few minutes, Nelson knew all the names by heart and addressed everyone in the group (six adults and four children) personally. The drive through the nature reserve was very interesting and a lot was explained to us. One of the guides was always available to help in difficult places to pass. A very successful trip overall! In any case worth the money and highly recommended!

Totally different & great fun!

Nelson is a great guide & teacher - we all picked up how to balance & move very quickly. It's a great way to see the Ria Formosa as you cover the ground more quickly than walking and learn about the local environment, flora & fauna on the way. Highly recommended, would definitely join Nelson again for another tour.
