    Full description
    Start with an intro from your experienced instructor on the basics of waves, currents, tides, and equipment, how to paddle and handle the surfboard in the water in a safe manner. The beginners use foam surfboards for safety and full-length wet suits to stay warm and comfortable. The course takes approximately 2-hours which includes a theory lesson on the beach. Learn how to surf in the Algarve and develop a new passion.

    Know before you go

    • Please note that due to the changing wave and tide conditions you will only know the exact starting time the evening before the course, usually before 08:00. Arrifana, Amoreira and Monte Clerigo are the three surf spots. The location will be chosen depending on the conditions and skill level of the student. Normally you will leave the camp between 08:00AM–10:00 AM and you will be back between 1:00 PM-2:00 PM.

    Great first experience with surfing! We had a small group of 4 with 1 instructor since it was all our first time taking surfing lessons. The instructor was very good in demonstrating and correcting our mistakes to help us learn quickly and enjoy our first experience. The place that organizes this surfing lesson was not as organized as we're used to, they didn't really greet us as a group and explain the details of the activity. We were sort of unsure before leaving about what to do next, how long the ride to the beach would be, if anyone needed to use a washroom before leaving,etc. Still a fun experience but could be a little more organized.

    Fun activity! Takes half a day instead of 2 hours. You actually get 2 hours of lessons, but there is also the preparation, the outward and return journey,… Teachers take the time to help everyone individually and the structure of the lesson was very good (for us who had no experience with water sports at all). Recommended!

    A taster course for absolute beginners. The team from the surf school is very friendly and you get a little insight. There would be no time for more. If you have a good balance, you can even stand on the board in this course. For those who can't make it to stand still, there is still enough fun to experience. A really nice experience.
