Discover a hidden paradise of the Algarve on a catamaran cruise from Faro. Climb aboard to journey through the channels of the Ria Formosa Natural Park on a 45-minute trip to see seabirds and native plants.

Then, dock at Ilha Deserta (also known as Barreta Island and Santa Maria Cape Island). Only accessible by boat, the island remains unspoiled and it’s hard to believe such a natural jewel still exists in Europe. Go to a unique beach at the southernmost point of Portugal and sample the traditional flavors of the Algarve at the environmentally-friendly Estaminé Restaurant.

Opt to stay on the island for a few hours or the entire day, and return to Faro whenever you want. Avail of a number of return crossings for your convenience.

This trip was the highlight of our visit! I’ve got a wild 4 year old boy, who loves running & being a fun active 4 year old… The beach was EXACTLY what we needed. We got the 10am boat over & the 4pm boat back to Faro. He was able to run around, collect shells, dip into the water & just do whatever he wanted, without getting in anyone’s way or limiting his fun… we had a ball. We ended up going the following day before our flight home too cos we had so much fun! Also the guy with the glasses collecting our tickets was professional but fun! We also ate in the restaurant… the staff there were so kind & very sweet to my little man who wanted to order for both of us etc. Will defo be back! Couldn’t recommend more if you’re looking for some space & a chill out day!!
