Marvel at one of the ancient wonders of the world and immerse yourself in Egypt's medieval history, with this two-day tour of Old Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza.
Day 1: Giza
On day one you will be picked up from Alexandria Port by a tour representative, before being transferred by an air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo. From Cairo you will be guided around Giza's pyramid complex, stopping to see The Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. You'll then get to visit The Great Sphinx, before moving on to The Valley Temple.
Continue your excursion to the Egyptian Museum, which features thousands of artifacts from the Pharaonic period. The museum displays 5,000 years worth of ancient art and is considered the larges,t most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world. After you've indulged yourself in Egypt's artistic treasures, you'll get to enjoy Egyptian food with lunch at a local restaurant.
Day 2: Old Cairo
On day two the tour will pick you up from your hotel and take you to The Salah El Din Citadel, which was constructed by Salah El Din (Saladin) on the Moqattam hills in 1183 AD to defend Cairo from the armies of Crusaders. After that you'll visit The Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque, which was designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq, in the early 19th centuary.
The tour will then proceed to Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of the most famous and oldest bazaars in the Middle East. From there you can explore Old Cairo, where you will enjoy the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue,the Church of St. Barbara and the Church of Abu Sirga. When the tour finishes you will be returned to Alexandria.
