Our historical tour of Santo Domingo begins with your meeting with our tour guide at your meeting point, from there we will start the first stop at the presidential palace. Where you will see the government trajectory of the Dominican Republic. We will also visit the Cuevas de los 3 Ojos, a place that was an indigenous refuge in the years of discovery, but later we will make a stop at the Faro a colon. Monument inaugurated in 1992 as a celebration of the 500 years of the discovery of America. We will take a walk and visit the museums of the colonial zone such as: Alcazar de Colon, Primary Cathedral of America, Calle Las Damas, Sundial, Museum of Royal Houses, Dominicus Convent, Amber Museum. We will have lunch at a local restaurant and visit the local souvenir shops.

In this experience, we will take the necessary time to analyze each emblematic point of the colonial city of Santo Domingo. We will begin our journey in Colón Park, the epicenter of the colonial city that serves as a central recreation space. Here, you will find a notable concentration of monuments, such as the Primada Cathedral of America, the First City Council of Santo Domingo, the picturesque street El Conde and various restaurants and stores. In the heart of this park a statue of Christopher Columbus is erected, created in 1887 by the French sculptor Ernesto Gilbert. The Primada Cathedral of America, consecrated to Santa María de la Encarnación, is a minor basilica located in the colonial city. Officially known as the Holy Church Cathedral Metropolitan Basilica of Our Lady Santa María de la Encarnación or Annunción, is located near the Colón Park, highlighting for its imposing architecture. We will continue our trip to the National Pantheon, a mausoleum that preserves the remains of prominent figures in the history of the Dominican Republic. With about 36 empty spaces destined to house the remains of future national heroes, the National Pantheon also includes a space in honor of the unknown soldier. The Royal Houses Museum, previously known as Royal Palaces, occupies two palaces of the 16th century built by order of the Crown of Castile. This museum provides a window to the history of the General Captaincy and the Province during that time. Our journey culminates in the Alcázar de Colón, erected between 1511 and 1514, inspired by the design of a castle in Mancera de Abajo, Salamanca (Spain). This historic building is a tangible testimony of the architecture of the colonial era in Santo Domingo.
