Things to do in Alcalá la Real

With the ticket and using the audio guide (for free), the traveler will enter the Monumental Complex of the Fortress of La Mota. A Fortified Medieval City, which was the key, guard and defense of the kingdoms of Castile due to its border character. Visit it and lose yourself within its walls. Go through its strategic doors, tour its dependencies, its urban framework, its Alcazaba, Iglesia Mayor Abacial, Wineries, Torre de la Cárcel, Adarve, Streets, Houses…. To do this, with your ticket we will provide you with a descriptive map of the venue and an entertaining audio guide in different languages (there is a special version for the little ones). The visit includes the projection of an audiovisual didactic in the Iglesia Mayor Abacial – which is projected at different set times – and which recreates the history of the city. Pets are not allowed.

Entering through a subway passageway, we will see how the conquest of the fortress was only possible through the ingenuity of the Christians who longed for this fortification. We will pass to see the fortified enclosure, finding details hidden behind our eyes and that tell us how hard life was in the fortress before, during and after its Castilian conquest. We will also enjoy a landscape under our feet and that covers three provinces (Cordoba, Jaen and Granada) from a single strategic point.
