Full description

Departing from Albufeira, get picked up from your hotel (or another convenient, close place) and enjoy the views as you drive towards Silves, one of the oldest cities in the Algarve. In Silves, visit the oldest cathedral in Algarve as well as its largest castle. Stop at Monchique, the tallest mountain in Algarve. Immerse yourself in the lush natural surroundings. Go to the top to see amazing views from the highest point in Algarve. Stop at a local restaurant for a nice lunch on the way down. In the afternoon, you will be taken to Lagos, another important city in Algarve. Admire the inside of the golden church of Santo António, and go to a 15th-century slave market, the old town, and the fortress. Finally, stop in Sagres, popularly known as "the end of the world", as it is the most southwestern point in continental Europe. Let the splendid views of the coast, beautiful rock formations, and the great lighthouse take your breath away. After your last stop in Sagres, return to Albufeira.

My husband and I enjoyed seeing the country and visiting the two cities along with the lighthouse without having to navigate for ourselves. Johnny our guide was explaining the importance of historical monuments and facts a he drove. We did not go into the forts or churches but walked around the towns on our own but we did go thru one fort that housed archeological findings which we were glad we did. It was nice with a small group that we got to converse during lunch however we felt with all the great food we had enjoyed the restaurant was not worth the money.

+Johny is very knowledgeable. He knows the region very well. With a Mercedes Vito with pickup, we went on a wonderful tour, which I can only recommend. -The food leaves a lot to be desired! The vegetarian food that we ordered and ate in the restaurant planned for the tour consisted of spaghetti with tomato soup, the mushrooms and tomato soup are from the glass and unfortunately you can taste it. Plenty of garlic was added to this, but unfortunately the food of the other participants also left a lot to be desired. Each dish cost €16.00 - in the end this price was simply too high for the reasons mentioned. One could have expected much more!

Good value for money. The space is restricted in the vehicle, but the small van is clean and good quality. The shown spots are worth to see. It's enough time to have some freetime in each spot and the driver is experienced. We liked it and would recommend it for everyone who wants to see the west in a short time.
