What People Are Saying About Alamo Square
The tour was very good, and using the films/programmes to show the location so you had a reference point proved invaluable. The Tour guide Bryan was very knowledgeable and kept the whole thing running smoothly. Driver stopped at all the best points and a couple of stops on the way round made the whole tour very worthwhile and went by extremely quickly. It also gives a very good bearing of the city and we went back to a few places highlighted for photos, like the bridge where Roger Moore stood in James Bond, the lift where Clint Eastwood got shot and Haight Ashbury to visit the homes of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and the Grateful Dead. Would definitely take the tour again and recommend you take the tour early on in your vacation, so you get an idea of the areas.
Enjoyed the guide AJ very much, very generous in her comments and funny. Loved to stop under the GGate bridge, city Hall, Steiner street, Alamo square, Lucas films, those are stops you do not make on hop on hop off tours, it was a great plus. The video clips were perfect and the timing was excellent. Really enjoyed it! Also, thanks to Mr. Bryan and his team for informing us at the hotel of the construction problem at the meeting point, very professional.
Time flew by on this 3 hr tour. AJ was very informative about San Francisco and the movie business. We had our 2 adult children with us who are film buffs and they were impressed - as were we - with AJ's knowledge of the business as well as her fun personality. Brian was a great driver too. We have been talking non-stop about all the things we learned and even went to visit a couple of the sites and Bimbo's 365 on our own! We also would highly recommend this trip - it helps you get an overview of the city as a whole and also learn some of the behind the scenes secrets.
Would recommend it to both adults and older children. It covered almost everything we wanted to see. The guide was very good and amusing with lots of tit bits of information
All was as offered and AJ was brilliant, a fountain of knowledge on all San Francisco movies. We were really pleased to have done this tour and would highly recommend to others visiting SF. It covered many miles and many areas of the city and the stop off at the Golden Gate Bridge was a real gem. Thanks AJ and Martin (the driver).
