Experience the magic of Oman from the sky with Royal Balloon Oman. Our hot air balloon tours offer a unique adventure, soaring above the breathtaking Sharqiya Sands and beyond. Whether you're a thrill-seeker, a nature lover, or someone seeking a serene escape, our hot air balloon rides provide an unforgettable experience. The Journey Begins: Arrival and Preparation The adventure begins well before dawn, with guests picked up from their accommodations. Depending on the season, our professional drivers will arrive at your camp or hotel to ensure you reach the take-off site just as the first light of day starts to paint the sky. Our pick-up service is punctual and comfortable. Guests are driven to our designated take-off area, conveniently located between Arabian Oryx Camp and Desert Nights Camp. Upon arrival, you are greeted with warm Omani hospitality. Morning coffee and snacks are provided. As the balloon is prepared for takeoff, passengers have the unique opportunity to watch the crew and pilot unload, assemble, and inflate the balloon. This fascinating process, set against the backdrop of a rising sun, sets the stage for the journey to come. With the balloon fully inflated and the safety briefing complete, it's time to climb aboard. The pilot ensures everyone is comfortable and secure before the gentle lift-off begins. The sensation of rising into the air, combined with the breathtaking view of the desert below, is both exhilarating and calming. As the balloon ascends to approximately 600 meters (2,000 feet), passengers are treated to a bird’s-eye view of the Sharqiya Sands. The shifting patterns of the dunes, the play of light and shadow, and the rich, warm colors of the desert create a visual feast. The flight path is determined by the wind, making each journey unique. Photography enthusiasts will find endless opportunities to capture stunning images during the flight. The early morning light casts a magical glow over the landscape, enhancing the natural beauty of the desert. Passengers are encouraged to bring cameras or smartphones to document their adventure. Flat shoes, a hat, and sunglasses are recommended to ensure comfort and protection during the flight. The Landing: A Celebration of Flight After approximately an hour in the air, the pilot begins the descent, searching for a suitable landing spot. The landing itself is part of the adventure, sometimes smooth and other times a bit bumpy, depending on the terrain and wind conditions. Once safely on the ground, the experience concludes with a traditional ballooning ceremony. As is customary in hot air ballooning, a celebration follows the flight. Guests are treated to refreshments, including juice and snacks, as they share their experiences and impressions with fellow passengers. To commemorate the adventure, each participant receives a medal, a tangible reminder of their unforgettable journey above the Sharqiya Sands.
