Following lunch, the tour continues with a drive up to Jebel Shams, the highest mountain in Oman, often referred to as the "Mountain of the Sun." Get picked up from your hotel and head to the Shatti Al-Qurum hotel where the tour begins. Your driver will show you how to use the audio guide system to benefit the GPS enabled commentary (available in five languages) that follows the tour. Travel towards to Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital and home to some of its most significant structures. Along the way, stop at a charming ancestral village called Birka Al Mawz, which sits at the base of Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountain). In Nizwa, admire the central fort and its giant cannon tower; walk through the traditional souq (market); and, of course, enjoy a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch, visit the unique Jabreen Castle, built in the 17th century. It has magnificent plasterwork, carved doors, and painted wooden beams. You'll also see one of the oldest towns in the region, Oman Bahla, before heading back to your hotel.

1-Preparation: Packing: Wear comfortable hiking shoes with good grip, bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, a hat, and a swimsuit if you plan to swim. 2- Getting There: Start your journey from Muscat, the capital city of Oman. Wadi Shab is approximately a 90-minute drive from Muscat. 3-Arrival: Once you arrive at the parking area near Wadi Shab, you'll need to hike a short distance to reach the entrance of the canyon. 4-Hiking into the Canyon: The hike into Wadi Shab is relatively easy at first, following a well-marked trail along the edge of the wadi. As you progress, you'll encounter some rocky terrain and may need to cross shallow streams. Take your time and watch your step. Enjoy the stunning views of the canyon walls and surrounding landscape as you make your way deeper into the wadi. 5- Swimming and Exploration: After hiking for a while, you'll reach the main attraction of Wadi Shab: the emerald pools and waterfalls. Prepare to get wet as you swim through the pools and wade through the water-filled passages. Explore the hidden caves and waterfalls tucked away within the canyon. Don't forget to bring a waterproof camera to capture the beauty of the scenery. 6-Rest and Relaxation: Find a scenic spot along the wadi to relax, have a picnic, or simply soak in the natural beauty of your surroundings. Take some time to appreciate the tranquility of Wadi Shab and the unique ecosystem it supports.

The day starts with an early pick-up from your hotel. From here, we make our way to the road that takes us up to the viewpoint for Jebel Shams (Sun Mountain), Oman’s highest peak (3009 m), and Oman’s Grand Canyon. This off-road adventure provides unparalleled views of the Al Hamra region. After enjoying the stunning landscape from above, and watching the Egyptian eagles sore overhead we descend into the canyon and hike along the amazing Balcony Walk. This is a moderate hike that passes by abandoned villages and hidden waterfalls, providing spectacular photo opportunities. After a break at the hidden pool, we head to the via ferrata, an exhilarating way to return to the viewpoint. After an equipment check and safety briefing, we make our way up the cliff to return to the viewpoint. The difficulty level varies as you ascend, but the views over the Grand Canyon of Oman are amazing. Finally, we scramble over the rocks for approximately 1km to return to the cars. A truly memorable experience!
