Das Boot war etwa 14m lang, also doch kleiner als erwartet und auch die Anzahl der anderen Touristen hielt sich in Grenzen. Es war ziemlich kalt als wir Mitte September gefahren sind, aber ws gab Overalls und heiße Schokolade + Tee und Kaffee zum aufwärmen! Wir haben 3 verschiedene Buckelwale gesehen. Die Tour war super! Der Anbieter Elding whale Watching ist ein Familienbetrieb und Naturschutz ist wichtig. Die Wale werden nicht verfolgt und dadurch unter Stress gesetzt. Trotzdem kamen wir sehr nah an sie. Die Tour ist zu empfehlen!

Despite cold weather and slightly rough seas the company persevered and we found whales and saw some dives with the flukes ( tails) on show The experience from Eldon was excellent and highly recommended We opted for a cruise from Akureryi as it would be a smoother boat trip. We went to Husavik the next day hoping to do another cruise but the weather was really cold and going out in the north Atlantic was not appealing to us.

Easy to spot them at the pier by the Hof cultural center. Big red boat. Can't miss it. They offer the warm cover-all suit and it is a good idea if you plan on standing on the deck the whole trip. Not necessary as they have a warm, comfortable cabin you can use and just pop in and out for whale sightings. Had lots of humpback sightings. Their spotter narrated throughout with info on whales, seabirds, etc. Really good excursion.
