The tour which we did on July 1st, 2025 was magnificent! We arranged through the tour a private pickup from and to our hotel in Playa del Carmen. That part was good and professional, but found the price somewhat on the high side ($2K MXN). But they did provide a private tour (at 9.30am) in the water to see the turtles which was highly appreciated as originally another couple was supposed to join us. We saw at least 5 turtles along the way, some were big and we saw them rise to the surface. There were also groups of exotic fish and stingrays. We took a lot of pictures with our underwater camera. After that we hang out around the beach and had a nice lunch nearby. Only downside was the high concentration of sargassum, mostly when you just enter the water which plagued the entire coast line though the entire turtle snorkeling experience was despite that incredible!

This activity was fantastic. We got the collectivo bus to the area which is really cheap and easy. Meeting point was easy to find. Our guides carlos and his colleague were really friendly and helpful. We had two kids with us who are good swimmers but the guides helped them to keep up with the small group we were in. They were really knowledgeable about the fish and the turtles and lead us directly to them. The beach is beautiful and a must see if you are nearby. 10/10

Meet your guide Seven Eleven store and he will take you to Akumal Beach entrance. Get set up with all the necessary snorkeling equipment lifejackets, masks and brand new snorkel tubes. Venture to the beautiful bay of Akumal.

Get all-day access to a private beach with bathrooms, showers, and lockers. Those that are new to snorkeling can enjoy a short tutorial, making this tour perfect for any level of experience.

Plunge into the water and look for the green turtles in their natural habitat, tropical fish, corals reefs, stingrays, and other species that visit seasonally. Travel with a tour guide that always remains a respectful distance from these wild and majestic creatures and have the best memory pictures of your adventure.
