Learn about the region from your local guide and, during the afternoon trip, stop for photo opportunities along the way. Then, it is time to gear up and climb into the double kayaks. We had to skip the kayaking and take the scenic penguin tour due to wind conditions. However this was communicated well in advance and the balance was refunded. Kevin was an excellent guide. We heard a lot of interesting facts about the region and highly enjoyed the scenery and the penguin experience.

Unfortunately due to weather conditions we couldn't do the kayaking. But did land tour and learnt so much about the little penguin. To be able to see how awesome and dedicated the crew at Pohatu are in carrying out their conservation work was amazing. Thoroughly recommend this activity. Thank you for an inspiring time.

Fantastic experience with a wonderful knowledgeable guide, Benoit. We saw Fairy Penguins, Fur Seal mothers and pups, Cormorants, Paradise ducks to name a few. I will definitely come back if I have the chance. Exhilarating experience kayaking at sea and knowing the cost of the tour contributes to saving the endangeted Yellow eyed penguin and Blue Fairy penguin.
