  • Visit 2 separate wineries to learn more about the grape varieties, climate, and production techniques
  • Enjoy a scenic drive in the landscape that inspired Paul Cézanne
Full description
Enjoy a half-day wine tour in the scenic landscape of Sainte-Victoire Mountain, inspiration for the famous post impressionist artist Paul Cézanne, who painted many pictures of the mountain between 1880 and 1883. The Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire vineyards are located east of Aix-en-Provence, and like all vineyards in Provence, are considered some of the most natural in France, due to the drying effects of the Mistral wind. The poor and shallow soils, formed by limestone and argillaceous sandstone, help to produce high-quality vineyards. Learn about the characteristics of the terroir, and explore the wine making process while visiting the cellars of 2 separate wine estates. Meet the winemakers, and taste AOC Côtes de Provence wines in 3 colors - tasty, full-bodied reds of excellent structure, subtle elegant rosés, and whites of distinction.

This was a really fun and well-contained tour. The guide (Pierre) was excellent. He was deeply knowledgeable (didn't sound like he had memorized a script, a great driver, and promoted a good "vibe" among the group. The vehicle was well air conditioned, easy to see out of, and had a good sound system so we could hear the guide's narration.

This was a brilliant morning excursion. Greg, our guide, was fun and interesting and very knowledgeable about the area and wine. Both vineyards we visited were interesting for different reasons and we sampled many wines ...hic! I would highly recommend this trip - it is a nice small group and comfortable vehicle too.

Perfect for wine lovers!

Let's start by saying that Natalie was THE GREATEST GUIDE EVER. She was funny, entertaining, full of facts and history, very helpful and upbeat. So was the rest of the group that day, so we were particularly thankful for it. A nice mix: Singapore, Japan, Brazil and us, from Argentina, all convivially speaking in English and laughing with Natalie and Laura, the guide from the first vineyard -who was great too. The minibus was the right size, perfect AC, clean windows to take impromptu pictures from the cliff roads and all working seat belts. The places she took us were ovely, and the wines we tried were very much the expected quality of the area: high! We recommend this tour for couples, specially because the vibe is very much honeymooney, if that's even a word. Bravo!
