We really enjoyed the tour. But I found a problem of the voucher. We booked the tour on Dec. 4, 2019. We printed out the voucher from the confirmation email. However, there is nothing described about the meeting address or meeting hotel, a rough map was described, on the voucher. We visited the “putative” meeting place with the voucher a day before the tour in order to check the meeting place. But, we failed to find the meeting spot. Later, I found, from my PC in the hotel room, that the meeting address and Radisson Blue Hotel are described in the confirmation e-mail, but nothing was written on the voucher issued on Dec. 4. Remember the customer brings only the voucher with him/her, but does not bring printed email. The voucher must contain everything important. The night before the tour, I received reminder email of the tour. The new voucher described everything including the meeting address, but too late. It is impossible to print out the voucher in the hotel late night.
The tour was a good taste of some of the more popular sites in Provence. It was a treat and a time saver to have a knowledgeable driver familiar with routes and access to sites. Our group was a mixture of French and English which the guide diligently tried to handle but it left no time for in-depth discussions including history etc. We found the time spent at each site sufficient and the in between driving not begrudged due to our less than perfect weather conditions. One word of caution is lunch options are poor. A packed snack would have been better.
Virginie was the driver and guide. She provided a great balance of info about the fields and Axe-en-Provence, which we spent the first half of the day visiting. She game plenty of time in each of the lavender fields and was sure to take us to the best ones including more secluded fields with the backdrop of the Alps. It was a great experience overall and the local farm we stopped at on the way back was great and we got to try many of their products but it wasn’t pushy like you HAD to buy anything. Would highly recommend. Go in July for sure!
Tour is really nice. I got more than I expected. We had our driver guide Leo who was really passionate in passing on information about Marseille, Aix En Provence and Cassis history. Any question you ask he will answer. Leo absolutely made the day a fantastic unforgettable one. The places themselves are really nice to visit. Try not to miss to boat ride to Calanques. Extra fee but worth it.
We saw so much more than we would have on a big tour. Edward was an awesome guide! Very flexible and accommodating. On time and even dropped us back off at our ship. Would highly recommend this your.
