  • Snorkel on a fringing reef
  • Walk to the lookout at Hill Inlet and enjoy spectacular views of Whitehaven Beach
Full description

Jump on board a classic 62-ft gaff-rigged schooner and feel the breeze as you sail across to Whitehaven. Help out to pull up the sails or relax in the sunshine on the deck. Enjoy some morning tea with home-baked chocolate brownies.

Sail across the Whitsunday Passage and take a leisurely pace towards Tongue Bay. Look out for turtles swimming through the warm water.

Anchor close to shore and walk up to Hill Inlet. Take in the views of the white sands and turquoise waters of Whitehaven Beach and discover why it’s been voted one of the 10 best beaches in the world.

Head back to the boat for a picnic lunch of wraps and homemade frittata. Set sail again and continue to the snorkeling spot on the fringing reef. Savor a refreshing fruit platter in the afternoon and perhaps buy a cocktail from the onboard bar.

Lovely peaceful day out. Do this trip if you want a chilled out day with a friendly crew , Oscar and Oscar! This is not a fast flash tour, it’s a lazy day on an old sailing boat where you aren’t chased from location to location. We would thoroughly recommend.

The experience was great. We started with the sailing in the morning then we stopped at the beach and the lookout, after that we started to do the snorkelling. The only point that I would suggest to change is to let people spend more time at the beach and the lookout since we only had like half an hour and it took us 15 min to go from a place to another. Snorkelling was ok but couldn’t see much fishes, probably short time too since a storm was about to come. Overall very nice experience, felt like a pirate for a sec.

Whitehaven beach is a must see and you should definitely go there if you’re in Airlie beach. The tour stops at a coral reef for some snorkelling before heading to the Whitehaven. It would have been nicer to have a bit longer at the beach as it took about 3 hours to get there, I think some tour boats may have been quicker. But the views are great on the boat ride, especially when the sun is out. I’d said I was vegan when I booked the tour through GetYourGuide but I don’t think that message was passed on to the tour company. They had provided for others with dietary needs so it might be best to confirm directly with the tour company before your trip.
