Come to Agrigento and discover one of Sicily's most famous historical attractions, for its well-preserved Doric temples dedicated to Greek divinities, the famous Valley of the Temples. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this Archaeological Park is located on a plateau close to the Strait of Sicily. 

Follow your guide to explore this site where time seems to stand still, preserving an unprecedented historical charm. Start the tour from the temple of Hera, continuing on the sacred way to the remains of the surrounding wall.

Inside the Valley, see 12 temples as well as some fortifications, the Lower and Upper Agora, an Olympian, and a Bouleuterion. Source of inspiration for poets, philosophers, and painters, it is one of the most emblematic parks in Sicily.

Admire Doric temples from the Hellenic period, that correspond to the ancient Akragas, the original monumental nucleus of the city of Agrigento. Move onward to the Temple of Concord, the remains of the early Christian Necropolis, the Temple of Heracles, and the remains of the Temple of Zeus.

Our tour guide Liz (Mexican lady married to a Sicilian) was excellent and really knew her history. She stopped and explained the different sites and tidbits of info under various shady spots, which was welcomed due to the heat. Even though we were there in October, it was still hot. There is a nice shuttle you can take back to the parking area at the end of the tour which was nice if you feel too hot or tired to walk. I would highly recommend!!

Our guide Mario was knowledgeable and very nice. There was confusion entering the park, but it all worked out. We were supposed to have audio equipment and that never arrived, that’s why I’m deleting one star. Mario tried to communicate as best he could but it was hard with out the equipment. Mario did a great job! Also, we ended up with an English only tour which was nice. And allowed for more questions, etc.
