Overview
The Keoladeo Ghana National Park formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary in Bharatpur, Rajasthan is a famous avifauna sanctuary that plays host to thousands of birds especially during the winter season.
What to Expect
Begin the tour with an early morning pick-up from your hotel /railway station in Agra at 5:00am (breakfast not included) and drive to Bharatpur, famous for the Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to an astonishing range of flora and fauna.

Arrive in Bharatpur at 6:30am and tour Keoladev Ghana National Park by taking a rickshaw ride through the sanctuary. An abundance of birdlife will be found here such as the open-bill and painted stork, egret, darter, white ibis, spoonbill, grey heron, sarus crane, cormorant, migratory geese, duck, rosy pelican and the rare siberian crane. Lunch will be provided at local restaurant at 1:00pm.

After Bharatpur, drive to Agra and stop en route to visit (optional) Fatehpur Sikri - a UNESCO World Heritage Site described as “the world’s most perfectly preserved ghost town.” Built by Akbar in the late 16th century, it was abandoned after only 14 years, and the elegant buildings of this superbly walled city remain intact to this day.

Continue on to Agra and enjoy shopping in the city known for its fabulous handicrafts made of marble and soft stone inlay work. The Mughals were great patrons of the arts and crafts. Empress Nur Jahan took personal interest and was an accomplished artist herself in zari embroidery work. Agra's major handicraft products besides inlay work include leatherware, brassware, carpets, jewelry, and embroidery work. After a memorable day, transfer back to your hotel or railway station in Agra at 6:00pm.
