After a convenient pick-up from your accommodation, we are heading to our first stop Therianos Organic Family Farm, where they cultivate a wide range of fruits and vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Their Olive Oil was awarded the Gold Standard at the International Society, Olympia Awards. They also produce a selection of wines and the famous black raisins. We will visit the farm, meet the animals, and taste the local products. In the village of Exo Chora, you will visit the famous 2.000-year-old olive tree. It is one of the seven oldest olive trees in the Mediterranean, and probably one of the oldest olive trees in the world. It is believed to be at least 2000 years old based on tree ring analysis. It still produces olives to this day. You will also have the chance to taste some traditional products of the area from the local farmers. As you are heading to your final destination the colors of the sky will lead you to Shiza in Kampi where you will taste the local delicacies of Michali's family-run tavern. Here you will find all the traditional Zakynthian dishes made from fresh daily ingredients. Stop at the landmark of Argostoli – De Bosset Stone Bridge and continue to the Cooking Demonstration of the traditional sweet “MANDOLA” (Baked Almond with caramelized pink candy). Stroll the pedestrian walkway with all the main shopping areas to purchase a souvenir. At the end of our walking tour, we will meet up with our bus for our next stop, The Olive Oil Factory. You will have the chance to taste the local extra-virgin olive oil while the producers explain all the details about the olive harvest, the varieties of the local olive trees, and the machines and procedures they follow in the olive press to maintain quality and produce biologically. You will taste the olive oil with bread, oregano, and tomato (riganada). We saved the best for the last with our visit to the Co-operating Wine Factory in the Omala Valley. You will be greeted by a wine-specialist member of the staff, who for the next 60 minutes will guide you through the history of viticulture on the island, the modern-day wine-making practices, and the grape varieties that are cultivated on the island, and you will have the opportunity to taste and buy different local wines. This incredible underground lake has recently been awarded as the 3rd most beautiful undergound lake in the world! • Next is the picturesque fishing village of Agia Efimia.
