This was a really interesting introduction to olive oil - including how the trees grow and are harvested, the history and an extensive tasting session. Would thoroughly recommend. You meet a little way from the olive grove - we got taxis there and back from Rethymno, although it would be slightly more straightforward if you have a car. Your host Aspassia will then meet you and take you through the experience - she is very friendly and informative. The location is stunning - so quiet and peaceful. After the explanations, you sit down and try a variety of olive oils with different foods to understand how they pair. It was incredible how the same oil could taste amazing with some types of food, and awful with others. (One small note - BRING INSECT REPELLENT. We went in mid-October and so thought it might be safe, and then got heavily bitten by mosquitoes. Seriously, bring it - it'll make the experience much better.)

Incredibly untouristy and authentic! Family-run, non-commercial tour of a private olive grove (only for the family's own consumption) followed by a tasting of 4 olive oils. Learned a lot about the fruit and the process in good company at a table set in the middle of the plantation. Plus four cold Greek tapas courses, prepared before our eyes, which we could season with our favorite oils. No sales shop afterwards, just neutral purchase recommendations from local producers on Crete. We talked about everything under the sun and so 4.5 hours went by instead of 3. An unforgettable, peaceful experience, like being with friends. Thank you very much!

I would give this 10/5 if I could. This was such a unique experience. We learned so much about olive trees, olives and olive oil production. The tasting itself was also extremely educational and the food pairings were delicious (we were kindly supplied vegetarian options as well). The secluded location was so special. But the cherry on top was the company and friendliness. Highly highly recommend for anyone looking for something special and unique without the swarms of tourists. Thank you again for having us and for such an amazing experience <3 :)

Our guide was funny and spoke German very well. During the trip he gave us a lot of information about the history of Crete and the customs of the inhabitants. The visit to the winery and the olive factory was very interesting. All in all, a very varied trip at a fair price.

The pink sand beach was beautiful, however the bus driver was driving much too fast.
