Explore the highlights of Kangaroo Island on this full-day tour by return ferry and coach from Adelaide. See playful fur seals, the Remarkable Rocks, and Admirals Arch, as well as other native Australian wildlife.  Depart Adelaide and enjoy a scenic coach ride towards the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula south of the city. Admire views of the vineyards, coast, and rolling hills along the way. Upon arrival at Cape Jervis, board the SeaLink ferry for the 45-minute crossing to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island, where, a local driver/guide will take you on a tour of South Australia’s premier nature-based tourism destination. Go to Seal Bay Conservation Park for a beach walk with an experienced guide. Spend time amongst a colony of rare Australian sea lions. Get up close to the wild creatures as they frolic and laze about. Then, enjoy a delicious 2-course lunch.  Spend the afternoon at Flinders Chase National Park, renowned as a sanctuary for native Australian animals such as kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, and echidnas.

Admire the rugged coastline on walks around Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rocks. Stroll down the Admirals Arch boardwalk to a rugged cliff face that reveals the spectacular rock arch formation, a safe haven for playful long-nosed fur seals. Keep a lookout for more kangaroos and wallabies on your return to Penneshaw or your return ferry back to Adelaide. Arrive at approximately 22:40 and be dropped off at your selected Adelaide CBD accommodation.

  • From Adelaide, this tour is a 16-hour day that includes travel to and from Kangaroo Island. You do get time to rest during your ferry transfers and coach travel between attractions

If you just have one day to see Kangaroo Island, this is a great way to see it. Well planned and covers as much as possible in a day that starts in Adelaide with round trip ferry rides. If you have the opportunity and time to stay overnight, would suggest that. But this is great for a guick, one day overview of the island.

The tour fit a lot of activities into the one day and we were able to see a lot of the island. We didn't get to spend a lot of time at each activity because we had to cover a lot of kms, but it was a chance to get a good taste of what there is to see on the island.

The coach ride around Kangaroo Island was great. Our tour guide did a great job of telling us about the history of the island. We were able to see many of the highlights of the island, and had enough time to explore and take photos. The pick-up in the morning didn't go well; I waited for 10 mins at the requested spot, then had to run across town to the bus station so as not to miss my ride. The coach driver was on his first day so I hope it will improve. The ferry had a decent selection of hot & cold food, plus drinks, which served as breakfast and dinner.
