Full description

Explore the highlights of Kangaroo Island on this full-day tour by return ferry and coach from Adelaide. See playful fur seals, the Remarkable Rocks, and Admirals Arch, as well as other native Australian wildlife.  Depart Adelaide and enjoy a scenic coach ride towards the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula south of the city. Admire views of the vineyards, coast, and rolling hills along the way. Upon arrival at Cape Jervis, board the SeaLink ferry for the 45-minute crossing to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island, where, a local driver/guide will take you on a tour of South Australia’s premier nature-based tourism destination. Go to Seal Bay Conservation Park for a beach walk with an experienced guide. Spend time amongst a colony of rare Australian sea lions. Get up close to the wild creatures as they frolic and laze about. Then, enjoy a delicious 2-course lunch.  Spend the afternoon at Flinders Chase National Park, renowned as a sanctuary for native Australian animals such as kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, and echidnas. Admire the rugged coastline on walks around Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rocks. Stroll down the Admirals Arch boardwalk to a rugged cliff face that reveals the spectacular rock arch formation, a safe haven for playful long-nosed fur seals. Keep a lookout for more kangaroos and wallabies on your return to Penneshaw or your return ferry back to Adelaide. Arrive at approximately 22:40 and be dropped off at your selected Adelaide CBD accommodation.

  • From Adelaide, this tour is a 16-hour day that includes travel to and from Kangaroo Island. You do get time to rest during your ferry transfers and coach travel between attractions

  • This tour does not operate on Christmas Day
  • This tour operates all year around. The Australian winter (May to October) is the best time to visit if you want to see more wildlife

It’s a long day but you get to see a lot. You’re in a coach most of the day which I don’t think the description gives that impression. Lunch was excellent and you do get to see all of the main attractions on the island. I do recommend but again, be aware you’re traveling 70% of the day.

Kangaroo Island is really cute, with this tour I could know and appreciate the Australian wilderness. The experience of remarkable rock and the arch was amazing! And we can touch and fed kangaroos and koalas, so cute! Thanks to the guide always available!

I went to the trip on 8th May 2024. Firstly, our guide Steve driving us from CBD to the ferry was very smooth drive. He has a sense of humour and made us start with a bright journey. Our second guide, Hemish, is really know everything in the island. He drove us around the island and it was a good ride seeing things. We saw a lot of kangaroos, seals, koala. We also saw a beautiful landscape. Word cannot describe how beautiful the nature is in Australia til you have to see from your naked eyes. Lastly, not sure what is his name driving us back to the city but he was really a good driver bring all of us back to home safely. Thank you all for your hard work. I really recommend this tour if you have a limited time but want to go to this island as this is Australia's third largest island and you have to visit once in a life :)
