Full description
Indulge in the hospitality and charm of the Barossa Valley as you experience its outstanding food and wine on this full-day tour from Adelaide. The Barossa Valley is South Australia's best-known wine region and home to the largest wine companies in Australia. In the company of your expert guide, travel through scenic Torrens Gorge to arrive in the Barossa Valley. For your first fine wine tasting, begin with visits to smaller wineries, such as Schild Estate. Then travel over world-famous Jacob's Creek to visit some charming wine cellars and small wineries such as Rockfords and Charlie Melton. Stop for a stroll in the town of Tanunda with time to discover its small shops, many of which specialize in locally-produced crafts. Before lunch, enjoy a picturesque drive to Menglers Hill for an unsurpassed view over the entire valley. Lunch will be al fresco or at Vintner's restaurant just outside of Angaston. For those more seriously into wine, your next stop may be Henschkes Winery in Keyneton. This fifth-generation winery produces outstanding wines that incorporate the best of Old World and state-of-the-art wine-making.
