Adelaide: Central Market Morning Tour
- Duration: 1.5 hours
I am a local and I already shop at the Central Market. I wanted to do this tour to learn a bit more about the history and the local stories about the market. Cheryl was a great guide and clearly very passionate about food and the market. Her little snippets of information about the people in the market and the general history of the market were fascinating. We had quite a few tastings at many varied stalls and learned about the food we were eating and the background of why and how that particular person came to be at the market. Thank you Cheryl for a great tour in my home town. She also gave the other couple who were doing the tour some ideas for great restaurants to visit.
Very interesting with a lot of background info about the market and the stall owners. Really enjoyed the variety of foods we sampled. Also must give a hearty shout out to the tour owner, Mark, who quickly offered to reschedule us to the next day when we arrived late due to a traffic issue. He then sat down with us and gave us ideas for what to do in Adelaide.
Carmel is so knowledgeable about so much and very good at her job. The market is large and fascinating which combined with some great tastings, made for a very enjoyable experience. If we lived in Melbourne we would shop on the market regularly. It’s great.
Clarice was an excellent guide. She was informative and enthusiastic. The tour was well set out in a very busy setting. The market itself was the highlight of our trip to Adelaide, with so much beautiful produce. A feast for the dyes and the tummy!!
A map of the market would have been helpful so we can find the stores we liked again. Also it would have been good to receive info on new tours , & other existing food type tours. Preferably written so we can follow up at a later time.
