Two and a half hours well spent learning not only about the war but some history of The Balkan states and Yugoslavia that made understanding the war and how and why it happened that much more interesting, and despite the tragedy of the topic Kristina was personable, humerous, showed little bias and made the history and the tour very enjoyable.

Spectacular!

Our guide for the Croatian Homeland War Tour, Nora, was amazing. Nora has a vast amount of knowledge on the subject matter, which she relayed to us in a clear and engaging manner. I would recommend this tour to everyone, especially those who wish to have a deeper understanding of the country’s history but may only have a short stay planned. One of the other people on the tour mentioned that Nora also provided them with a free walking tour of the city earlier that day. Based on the persons recommendation we attended this tour the next day, which was actually provided by Nora’s colleague Vid who did an incredible job. By attending both tours we felt that we had a greater understanding of the history of the country and the set out of the city as a whole! We recommend both tours - you should find them available on the Free Spirit website.

It was an amazing tour!!! Very informative and our guide was great! He gave us very neutral information so we could form our own opinion and then stated his. The local knowledge was very beneficial to understanding the tour. From the walking tour of the city to the bunker and the museum I learned a lot!
