Full description

Spend some time on the most famous Venetian islands, known throughout the world for their picturesque scenery, craft traditions, and unique history. See a glass factory in Murano, visit a lace shop in Burano, and enjoy free time in Torcello.

Depart from near Saint Mark’s Square or Santa Lucia Train Station, and take an enjoyable trip across Saint Mark’s Basin. On the boat, a live guide will illustrate the history of the lagoon and the three islands you will visit.

Your first stop will be the island of Murano, sometimes referred to as the “Island of the Glass.” Spend 30 minutes visiting one of its famous glass factories and see the glass being manufactured and blown.

Enjoy about 15 minutes of free time on Murano before heading to Torcello, the most ancient of the inhabited islands. Continue to Burano, admiring the natural environment and the minor islands spread all around you.

Enjoy some free time in Burano, a typical fishing island with colorful contrasts and chocolate-box-painted houses. Look out, too, for much evidence of its renowned lace-making and embroidery industry, and try some of Burano’s notable homemade cakes.

Please note that once on the ground, this is not a guided tour. The guide will escort you to the glass factory in Murano and the lace shop in Burano. Afterward, you will have time to explore each island on your own.

The tour was okay. We thought the stops at each island were too short. Also the boat was too loud and we couldn’t hear anything announced and narrated by the tour guide. If you are just looking for a boat to take you to islands then this is okay otherwise not a great option.

It was a nice trip and well organized. It would have been nicer to have more time on Murano and Burano. There was enough time given to enjoy Torcello. The Tour guide was educated and nice. Unfortunately it was a cold day and she was in a different cabin on the boat. She just spoke by rote and there was no interaction. She didn't even know when her mic wasn't working because she was just speaking without looking at us through two glass walls.

Overall, we enjoyed the visit. However, there is little time left to explore each island. In Murano, most of the time is spent visiting the Fábrica do Vidro (which is fantastic!). Here, we watch the production of some glass pieces in real time. Right before our eyes. Torcello doesn't have much to do with it. If you are looking for colorful spaces, this is the ideal island. Burano stayed in our hearts. The colors make that place become wonderful and a unique setting. We advise you to take sandwiches for lunch and enjoy the boat trip to eat.
