Full description
Discover Plitvice Lakes National Park, founded in 1949 as Croatia's first national park, and boasting breath-taking natural beauty. Observe the phenomenon of karst hydro-geology in this UNESCO world heritage site. Admire the series of 16 beautiful lakes, that change color from turquoise to green, grey to blue. The lakes were created by a natural process of travertine barrier deposits, and now form part of a superb symphony of lakes, waterfalls and surrounding wood that brims with wildlife. Experience this rare phenomenon of water and karst by walking the 8 kilometer long trails and wooden bridges or by taking a ride by boat or electric train. Your tour will take about 3.5 hours, after which you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

The Plitvice Lakes are a dream and should definitely be seen on your trip to Croatia. You have to prepare for a long journey (we were on the way from 07.35 to 23.30), but the outward journey was very entertaining due to the breathtaking landscape. The bus driver was very safe and drove well and our guide had extensive knowledge of the places. If you have the opportunity to drive a rental car, I would recommend this, but it was not an option for us. It would also be great if you could stay in a hostel there. However, the tour was well organized and structured.

A very nice trip! You have to be aware that this will be a long and tiring day, but it is really worth it! Started at 7.30 a.m. in Pula and were back around midnight. Lunch tasted good and you will definitely get full. Tour guides and bus drivers were super nice.

Fantastically beautiful national park

The national park is beautiful and a visit is worthwhile despite the long and exhausting journey. We started from Pula at 7:40 a.m. and after a one-hour lunch around 1 p.m. we were in the national park. The tour of the park was good and informative. Our tour guide took good care of the group and answered all questions. If possible, I would recommend driving in your own car to be more flexible.
