Full description
Enjoy 10 local tastings from 3 countries on this unforgettable food tour. Your private guide will show you why Singapore is known for being a melting pot of cuisines. You’ll hear all about its rich food heritage and taste fabulous dishes with Malaysian, Chinese and Indian roots.  The Malay Village is the perfect place to enjoy a local breakfast meal. Sit back and relax as your host introduces you to lontong (curried vegetables with rice cakes) and nasi lemak (coconut rice dish). Pick your favorite dish and enjoy. Then, wander around the village and get a feel for the historic and cultural scene. Check out a local tea shop and learn all about the special way of pouring teh tarik.  Afterwards, head to Chinatown to admire the stunning gateway, and inhale the fragrant smells of the traditional cuisine. This is an area that’s proud of its heritage and bursts with culture. When in Singapore, checking out the largest hawker center is a must. With 260 food stalls, it’s the ideal place to have your private guide by your side. Try the most delicious dim sum you’ve ever tasted, see how sugar cane juice is freshly made and enjoy a typical popiah spring roll.  Lastly, head to Little India to feast on great food. Create your own rojak, a traditional meat, fish or vegetable dish. Choose your favorite ingredients and let the local seller prepare your dish with spicy peanut sauce. Quench your thirst with a refreshing mango lassi and taste thosai bread. Top off your experience with traditional Indian sweets as a dessert.

A fascinating and delicious tour.

William was a knowledgeable and friendly guide. His manner immediately made us feel at ease with him, and we very quickly were chatting away like long term friends. In addition to his knowledge about the local cuisines, William was able to provide additional historical background to the areas we visited. The everyday foods of the Malay, Indian and Chinese populations were all touched upon and William had some solid suggestions in relation to dining in the hawker markets. We look forward to touring with William again, next time we are in Singapore.

A real treat with a perfect guide

The food tour with William, our local guide, was a real treat. Besides the culinary discoveries we learned so much about Singapore, its history, its traditions and its customs. The samples of food in Singapore are huge: small portions turned out to be real meals. We tried them all, we loved them all and needless to say that we were not hungry for the rest of the day. The food tour with the local guides are the best way to discover Singapore.

This 5 hours private guided food tour with tastings is a “must do activity” in Singapore. I am a solo traveller who was looking for an authentic new food experience, but I ended up receiving much more than that :) The knowledge, the passion, the kindness, the generosity and the meticulousness in the details were all offered by my incredible tour guide Arthur. I know my 30th birthday is only next week but it feels like today it was my real celebration day! The tastings were so full filling, delicious and so different from one to another that it is like to have a month of weekends spent in different food places. To my dear tour guide Arthur, you are truly exceptional! Veronica
