Full description
Depart Colombo and travel by a shared vehicle, in a small group, to the city of Sigiriya, and head directly to Sigiriya Rock on arrival. Gaze in awe at the massive column of rock that, according to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle The Culavamsa, was selected by King Kasyapa as the site of his new capital. Admire numerous paintings of historic queens, princesses, and maids inside the rock fortress before getting a break for lunch at your own expense. Then, explore some of the traditional crafts of the region, such as wood carving and batik textiles, with time to purchase souvenirs before departing. Start the journey back towards Colombo via Dambulla to explore the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Discover the magnificent Buddha images and rock paintings of vivid colors and different shapes, painted from around the 2nd century B.C. up to the 18th-century Kandyan era.

I'm very happy to have booked tours with this company! They are very welcoming, courteous and highly anticipative of their clients's needs. To my surprise, it was actually a very luxurious solo tour with just me and the driver/guide. Nice comfortable vehicle. The food at the restaurant stops was very delicious with great variety and they were all complete with the necessary amenities. In each food/cafe place, we stopped (most at my request), everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The Guide/driver was very informative and very patient with all my requests. The ride towards the Sigiriya and Dambulla was relaxing. The Sigiriya monument and Dambullah caves that we explored were magnificent and looked better in real life. I enjoyed every minute of this trip! It was seamless from start to finish. I highly recommend booking this tour. Great many thanks for making my stay in Sri Lanka memorable. :)

Great one-day trip

The one-day trip from Colombo to Sigiriya and Dambulla was really perfect and worth it. English speaking driver, just a few people in a group and wonderful sightseeing. We left Colombo at 5 am and was back in town around 6 pm. The company provided a guided tour at Sigiriya and the guide was excellent, he knew a lot and spoke perfect English.

ne of the most humbling experiences to ever experienced. Getting to the top made me feel like I had entered the Jurassic era, the views looked unchanged throughout the centuries. Climbing to the top took monumental effort, having got to the top, it was worth every second and drop of sweat getting there. Beautiful.
