Full description
Explore Seville’s Alcázar on a guided tour of one of the oldest functioning palaces in Europe. See why this palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, how it blends different architectural types, and why it became the setting for Lawrence of Arabia and Game of Thrones. Choose from either a small-group or private tour to suit the experience you're looking for.  Meet your guide in the Plaza del Triunfo, which offers great views of the Giralda. After using the priority entrance to enter the palace you will begin the tour at the Patio del León, the site of the original Moorish palace. Hear about how Moorish and Christian styles were blended after the Reconquista to create a palace that was emblematic of Mudéjar architecture. Visit examples of newer post-Reconquista architecture, such as the Casa de la Contratación and chapel, before heading to the Palacio del Don Rey Pedro, a perfect example of Mudéjar architecture. Discover the Patio de las Doncellas and grand Ambassadors’ Salón, as featured in Game of Thrones. Both incorporate intricate carved detailing and colorful Islamic-style tiling. After this, take a look around the Gothic Palace with its royal tapestries and ornate tiling. Stroll around orange-tree-filled gardens at your own leisure after the tour. After your guide drops you in the gardens, take in the peacocks that live there, the smell of orange blossom and the numerous tranquil water features. Try the labyrinth maze and enjoy the quietness of the gardens that are unbelievably located in the middle of the city.

Great visit of the Alcazar, with lots of explanation from Miguel our local guide. The place is a must see in Sevilla. The interior of the palace is beautiful as well as the gardens. I was luck enough to have a private tour with my partner as there was no other pple on the tour. It was a pity however that there was no skip-the-line as indicated (due to Covid) and that the starting time was changed from 11am to 2pm the day before the tour.

The Guide was very sympathic and knew everything about the History of the Alcazar. Because of Covid-19 we were just 3 People which gave us time to have a little small talk with the guide while walking through this amazing Palace. The only negative thing is that because of Covid-19 you have be in movement permanently to keep the distance between the visitors. That makes it hard to make Photos and enjoy the whole atmosphere, but that's not the Guides fault :)

Well worth having a guide! This is an amazing place!! Totally stunning! And to have a 90 minute tour was just perfect. We were so lucky having Miguel...he has a history degree and could not have packed more information into the tour. He knew his history inside out and you could ask any question and he would know the answer! We had only 6 people in our group which was great. He talked very fast and had a bit of an accent so sometimes it was a bit hard to keep up, but I learnt so much and it brought it all to life! You would miss so much. Having had an audio guide for the cathedral the day before, there is no comparison.... It was skip the line too, but there were not a lot of people, so it didn't make much difference to us, but it is just so easy booking in advance and not having to worry when you are there. Very good service. Thank you Miguel!
