Full description
With this hiking tour you get to walk along the rim of the beautiful caldera of Santorini and through the villages of Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli and Oia with plenty of chance to take photos of the breathtaking views. Along the way you pass through beautiful villages with the distinctive white-washed houses, stop at panoramic view points and pass by beautiful churches. On the way from Fira you hike over the caldera and you pass in front of Skaros, a separate rock, where the first fortress was built on the island. Now you can see only what is left of it. Pass by Firostefani, the monastery of St. Nicholas, and the charming settlement of Imerovigli.Sweeping Mediterranean scenery surrounds you at every angle as you pass by the Prophet Elias chapels, where your group stops for a rest and enjoys a delicious picnic lunch featuring fresh fruit, a sesame bar and a fresh smoothie. The terrain of the path varies: Some parts are paved sidewalk, some parts are cobblestone, other parts follow just a dirt track. The hike takes around 3 hours depending on walking pace and how many breaks you have.

Very picturesque route. Guide was knowledgeable and helpful with lots of local information. The hike was pretty steep than expected at some points and fairly slippery at some points on the way down. We are active seniors and managed the hike but I would caution others in the 70+ age group to use caution in going up as well as getting down high elevations. Good experience overall.

The hike was absolutely stunning! The views you will never see anywhere else, the sunsets you will never experience in another place and our guide, Giannis, was so sweet, funny, informative and extremely personable. It was as much fun getting to know him as it was in getting to know the gorgeous island of Santorini. We are forever grateful for the experience and the beautiful pictures Giannis provided to us. It is 100% worth every Euro!

Sebastian was an incredible guide. He paced the hike nicely, with regular breaks, juicy tidbits about the history and the neighbourhood around our hike. The timing was impeccable. He's funny and always looking to improve the tour. We were the first to have a taste of local Greek cuisine and it looks like its going to be a new addition to the activity.
