Full description
Escape the crowds of San Francisco on a full-day tour to Yosemite National Park. Heading east across the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge offers great views of the San Francisco skyline, Alcatraz Island, Fisherman's Wharf, and the Golden Gate Bridge. En route to the park the tour crosses through the Central Valley, where you will stop at a fruit stand for some local produce. Famous for its rich volcanic soil, the Central Valley is the largest agricultural region in the United States. The section the tour drives through is best known for speciality fruits and nuts such as almonds, walnuts, cherries, and strawberries. After this quick rest stop, you will enter the rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. Continuing into the mountains brings you to California gold country and the gold rush town of Groveland before the tour winds its way into Yosemite National Park. On your 1.5-hour narrated coach tour of Yosemite's glaciated valley, you will see famous waterfalls and rock formations including Yosemite Falls, the tallest waterfall in North America. Continue on past El Capitan, Half Dome, Bridalveil Falls, Sentinel Dome, and much more. During the tour you will see Yosemite Valley from a number of great vantage points, the best of which is perhaps Inspiration Point. After the tour, you will stop for the afternoon near the base of Yosemite Falls. If you have not already picked up picnic supplies, there are many options for getting lunch in the park. You will have 3-4 hours of free time to explore the valley as you choose. You can walk to the base of Yosemite Falls, check out the visitor center, visit the Ansel Adams Gallery, stop in at the Ahwahnee Hotel, rent a cruiser bike, or hike some of the trails that originate from the valley. Although you could easily spend 3 weeks in Yosemite, the 3 hours you get on your own is enough time to understand why Yosemite is one of America's most popular national parks.

I made my booking very last minute and I was very lucky to get a spot to join this amazing tour. The communication was outstanding as I had a couple of questions that I sent very late in the evening and managed to get responses by email. The tour leader Kelly really killed it and she was fabulous, can’t find enough words to complement the added value she gave to this tour. She is very knowledge about the region we visited and shared great stories with us during the ride and on site. She recommended for us to watch a movie/documentary on the way back that really made us feel more part of the Yosemite! We had the chance to stop in places where there is no tourists and enjoy the stunning views. Kelly was nice, helpful, and very time precise when she shared arrival times! I shouldn’t forget that she is a great driver too. Thank you for the great experience!

Kate is a great tour guide and driver. She is very knowledgeable and confident with great flow of tour guiding. Among so many tours I have participated in, she’s actually the first woman tour guide and driver I have ever met. The 8-hour round trip driver is not an easy job and I’d just like to give her a big thumb up for her work and sincerely wish more talented women like her would be long-haul tour guides and drivers (maybe there already are many and please ignore my obliviousness if that’s the case). Thank you!

Overall it was a good experience, I got what i expected. Be prepared for a long bus ride, but the view definitely worth it. When we arrived into the park, I felt a bit lost, although we got maps and some advices for directions, but i felt a bit rushed. But then i figured out. The 3 hours in the park not much, but enough for a light walk around, make a short picnic.
