Full description
In a small group, explore Snæfellsnes peninsula. Walk along the seashore near Arnarstapi and view this tiny fishing village from afar.  Next, you'll visit rock formations formed by the sea at Lóndrangar. You'll notice that Djúpalónssandur's pebbled beach is also the site of a 1948 shipwreck. For centuries, fishermen rowed out to the Atlantic Ocean from here. Try one of the "lifting stones" to see if your strength measures up! Then, check out Saxhóll Volcano, formed in an eruption nearly 4,000 years ago. For spectacular views of the lava formations and the national park, you can climb to the top via stairway. At the end, you’ll visit one of Iceland’s most famous mountains - Kirkjufell. You’ll recognize the hat shape when you see it. For the best view, walk around its circular path and see Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall.  Fun Fact: Kirkjufell appeared in Game of Thrones (Season 6 and 7) as ”Arrowhead mountain.”

The Snæfellsnes Peninsula was a perfect day trip to see the beautiful and rugged Iceland western coast and sites along the way. We value small group tours that allow for more flexibility in schedule and an opportunity to get to know your guide and fellow travelers. Our guide was so personable and a gifted story teller. He accompanied the group at the sites and talked in depth about the historical significance and events that occurred at each location. We noticed a lot of other tour guides hanging back at their buses. He ended the day with taking us to this cozy little cafe on the peninsula and treated us to a hot drink. Highly recommended!

    Insanely beautiful and fantastic guide

Borys is a great guide. He has told great stories while driving. The locations were really beautiful. He also took the group to a canyon that was not on the schedule, it was really great. We were allowed to take all the time in beautiful locations and I never felt rushed despite the mega busy schedule of the day and given the limited daylight. The icing on the cake was the Northern Lights over Kirkjufell
