Full description

Experience the wines of Portugal with a local guide on a wine tasting tour of Porto. Journey through the most famous Portuguese wines, starting at Port Wine Cellar. Sample two different port wines at this historic venue. Then, go to two typical wine houses in the city. Try a green wine along with a selection of cheeses and smoked meats as a complement to your tastings. Get the chance to try some wines from the Douro Valley wine region at one, served alongside some Portuguese snacks (vegetarian options available). Benefit from a complete and wide experience of one of Portugal's most famous products and learn more about the grapes, varieties, and wine-making process. Get tips on how to taste wine and much more.

Head back to Gaia city to visit the cellar and come back to Porto to go to the bars/restaurants for the rest of the tasting. This way, you'll have the opportunity to see the best viewpoints of both cities.

Super good experience. Good guide and exciting story/tasting. Had a bit of difficulty finding the guides at first, as they were standing in a different place and were wearing different clothes than described. But once we got going, everything went as planned. The guide was good at telling briefly and precisely about the history of Porto/port wine and had the energy to answer questions. The tour is on foot and not for those with walking difficulties or people in poor shape. Very small tastings at stop two, where it was all about Vino Verde. Here you can advantageously open one more bottle, so that people get more than a single mouthful of the wine in question. There should also be more bread for the delicious cheese/sausage that is served. Would definitely recommend the trip to others.

Be warned - Porto is essentially one big hill, and you will mostly be walking up. That aside, the tour itself is fantastic. Lots of knowledge about Ports and wine, along with the history. The tastings and food were perfect as well. I give it 5 stars because I didn't mind the walking, but definitely keep it in mind.

So much fun! The walking was quite intense, especially going uphill to the cellar in Vila Nova de Gaia. The tour around the cellar was very informative and the Port wine tasting was superb. Bought myself a bottle. I Recommend eating before as the snacks are small and walking can get you very hungry.
