Full description
San Gimignano, the Chianti area, and medieval Siena are situated in the heart of picturesque Tuscany, and are all compelling destinations for those who want to learn about the region’s history and traditions. The first stop on this extended full-day tour is San Gimignano, a magnificent example of a medieval urban town. You’ll have free time to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site with its splendid squares, palaces, churches, and magnificent towers. Then you’ll head to a simple yet elegant rural hamlet in the Chianti countryside for lunch and 2 wine tastings. On arrival, you’ll be shown around the estate and visit its medieval chapel. Hear about the estate's fascinating history and background before you stop at a panoramic terrace to enjoy a tasting of Chianti Classico, accompanied by some snacks. Continue to the restaurant where a typical Tuscan lunch will be served, along with 2 excellent products of the estate – a Riserva and an IGP wine. Take your time after lunch to wander about or relax in the villa's lush gardens. In the afternoon the tour continues on to Siena. There will be 4 official guides (English, Spanish, French, and Russian speakers) to lead a tour of the city center. You’ll have the opportunity to admire the magnificent cathedral and the Town Hall in the Piazza del Campo, the setting of the world famous Palio horse race. Your full-day tour ends with a visit to the imposing Monteriggioni medieval fortress.

    Great tour for a day

We got to visit several interesting places. The tour was exactly as it was described. The trip between Pisa and all places was a little too long but the car was nice and comfortable and the driver was really nice. Even though it was a long day, we could have stayed a little bit longer in San Gimignano. We missed a more clear agenda, it was a little too long time until lunch. But overall it was a great Day!

Driver Roman excellent, both with commentary and driving. The guided tour in sienna was very poor. The guide walked on too quickly, often could not hear her, she often looked at the feature and talked with her back to you, no introduction was given so we did not know in advance we would have to return and pay for entry into certain places. A microphone was needed.

Very well structured to cover points of interest in Tuscany

Roman is a great driver, story teller, and foodie. This makes all the difference when sharing a whole day filled with history facts, humourous anecdotes and chatting on the road! We had a great time even when the rainy weather spoiled part of the tour. Unfortunatelly, this unusual spring sort of cheatd us with cold temperatures and rain, so context was not the best to appreciate the beauty of some of the amazing Tuscan locations along the way. Food very good at the winery.
