Took my family from out of town on this tour and we loved it. Dave was so insightful and we were delighted to find how respectful and educational this tour is of the indigenous tribes that occupied this area before the settlers arrived. We learned so much about everything from how Seattle was founded and built to relevant facts about the city as it is today (with a ton of good restaurant and neighborhood recommendations). If you want to learn more about the Seattle this hour long tour is the best thing you could do. I would do this again in a heartbeat with other visitors.

I was unaware of this attraction until recently. I was therefore also unaware of the history of Seattle and how it came to be raised up down near the waterfront. The tour was interesting. I would say we spent 2/3 of the time on street level and 1/3 of the time below ground via some access points along the route. It was raining on the day of our tour and we borrowed an umbrella from the Underground Walking Tour company. Note that the tour does not end where it starts, so they took the umbrellas back at the end of the tour and we had to walk back to the starting point -- where our car was parked -- without an umbrella and got wet. I would have gladly paid a refundable deposit with the promise that we would take it back. The information shared during the tour was genuinely interesting. The group size allowed for us to all be close enough to the tour guide to hear them. There is an opportunity to tip your guide at the end, which we did. Make sure you have cash on you. :)

Mike Daughtry was our tour guide, and was funny, pleasant, and the typically charismatic type you might find from an underground Seattle drummer! He was very knowledgeable on Seattle’s “rich” history and it’s apparent he’s gone out of his way to make the most of your experience! The locations “underground “ and above are intriguing, and leave you in awww. I’m ORIGINALLY from Washington, and did not know 10% of what learned!
