Full description

Follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and other characters from the Harry Potter movies. J.K. Rowling applied to study at Oxford University and so she was familiar with Oxford.

When they were producing the films, Rowling walked the producers around Oxford, pointing out various sights which they could use, such as the statue that looks like 'Nearly Headless Nick', and Turf Tavern Lane, which looks like Knockturn Alley.

This tour showcases where the Harry Potter movies were filmed in Oxford. It includes entry to the Divinity School film site, where they filmed the classroom, dance, and infirmary scenes.

You will be passing the city's famous sights and colleges from the outside. You will also be provided with lots of insights about the actors, the producers and about JK Rowling's inspirations. As you walk around, you will take part in a Harry Potter quiz to test your knowledge of the books and films. The guide will also describe how student life in Oxford compares with Hogwarts.

  • Detailed map of Oxford city center colleges, attractions and sights
  • Entrance to the Divinity School film site worth £2.50 per person

The tour was really great. My sister, son and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour guide Peter brought the tour to life with interesting anecdotes about Oxford. He also had knowledge about Presidents and Prime Ministers who had studied there. He led us to wonderful places to visit, which we hope to return to when next in the area. Our group consisted of friendly visitors from the USA, Estonia, Italy and Japan. Our tour guide was personable, knowledgeable and interacted well with the group. The architecture in the Divinity School was amazing. It was good to spend some time there admiring the detail. I would recommend this tour whether or not you are a Harry Potter fan. At the end of the tour it may spark a newfound interest in the books / films, as it did for me.

It was fantastic! Flora was an excellent guide who gave us a detailed walk through of Oxford, focusing on Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling's inspirations for writing the books. Flora's insights and stories gave it a unique feel as we toured historical buildings that were used during scenes in the movies. We highly recommend this tour!

It was a very nice tour and our guide Peter was very funny and told us much information about Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling, Oxford and many many more. He also had delicious cake and chocolate. He showed us many beautiful places and explained everything clearly. Peter knows very much from many writers of Oxford, many fragments of movies who were filmed in Oxford. We also had enough time to take pictures, enough time for a laugh and asking questions. Time flies while walking through the city with Peter. He also gave tips for nice things to visit in the city after the tour. My kids are 12, 14 and 15 and could understand Peter’s stories. We also got information about persons who studied at Oxford University like Bill Clinton and Bob Hawke. All by all for sure worth to book a tour by Peter.
