Walking through Pompei is memorable experience. It’s stunning to see how city looked before and it’s like you are part of that world for a moment. We went there at Friday morning and there was not many people which was great because we could really enjoy it and didn’t have to avoid crowds. Biggest minus is trash and cigarette butts on the ground/behind bars/in holes...

The reception desk for exchanging reservation vouchers for tickets was also easy to understand and the entrance was very smooth. Because it was a quiet season in November, there was no line at the ticket office or entrance gate. . . You can get a guidebook in Japanese at the information desk next to the window. It was so great that I couldn't believe it was free. The Pompeii ruins are so large that it was difficult to see all of them.

I have mobility issues and used leg braces and walking sticks so the stairs were a challenge. I would’ve liked earphones etc. that told us where we were going. They might’ve been available somewhere but it was never obvious to us. Everywhere was very well sign posted once you got up there but I would’ve loved more information as I visited each area, I still loved it though.
