Full description

The Uffizi Gallery is a must-see when visiting Florence. Built in 1560 and known as the world's oldest museum, it was designed by the famous renaissance architect Giorgio Vasari. The grand duke of Tuscany Cosimo I de Medici decided to re-establish the authority of the Medici family.

After Cosimo I eliminated most of his rivals, he gave an office to the rest to keep an eye on them. In fact, Uffizi means offices. After his death, his children lost interest in politics. His eldest son, Francesco I, brought his private collection of artworks and made the Uffizi his private museum.

On this tour Uffizi tour, save time but also learn inside stories behind some of the most notable masterpieces conserved in Florence.

After your tour, enjoy some refreshments in the cafeteria on the Uffizi Gallery's terrace. Take in the unique views of the city, relax and take pictures.

The Uffizi Gallery is so large that we felt we would be lost with a guide. Our group was small-only six of us. Carmen took us through the must see rooms/artists. She was engaging and provided lots of really interesting information. She was happy to give us tips on where to go if we wanted to stay and explore more on our own.

The tour with Roberta was great. She told a lot of interesting things and the essential works of art were explained to us very well. It was annoying that the tour was supposed to start at 10:30 a.m. and we had to wait 1 hour until it finally started. This is not acceptable. But we were compensated by the very good leadership

Took the trip during vacation days and the city was really reallt full with people. Despite this, we managed to get into the Uffizi in just a few minutes; the tour was interesting, without much tecnical information that would probably bore the tourist. Not for those who already know what they're going to see, but recommended for first-time visitors.
