Full description
Enjoy a theatrical sightseeing tour of Edinburgh on board the 60-minute Ghost Bus, a beautifully refurbished vintage double-decker, painted in traditional midnight black. Your creepy conductor will tell you about Edinburgh’s grave robbers, plague victims, and the ghosts that reside in the most haunted city in Europe. Explore the city's gruesome past, while admiring the its most famous monuments, including Edinburgh Castle, Grassmarket, Greyfriar's Kirk, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Mile. As you traverse the Old Town and New Town, visit the sites of murders, tortures and executions. Hear about the infamous Burke and Hare, and the hundreds of women who were drowned or burned as witches. The bus, which belonged to the Necropolis Bus Company, boasts decorative features that include atmospheric lamps and window curtains. In 1967, the entire fleet was destroyed in a mysterious fire, and only one bus survived. Will you?

We took a wrong turning finding the meeting point and only arrived a few minutes before the tour was due to leave and this was fine. Everyone had allocated seats and social distancing was observed: first the bottom of the bus getting off and then the top. If you're jumpy like me and unsure about booking this tour, then don't be. Nothing jumps out at you but the guide did a good job of setting a spooky atmosphere and he was entertaining. The tour is more fun than scary. Some of the history was a bit exaggerated though.

It was an amazing trip. The guide was too good. It was little scary but mostly comedian. Had a vefy goid experience especially when had to cross the bridge and came up with the breaking noise. Beside the venue was changed and no one informed us so we missed the trip on the 1st go but was adjusted with the another one.

Guide was really good. Great delivery fantastic and highly recommend . The only thing I didn’t like was asking for money for a charity at the end and then holding out a hat. Edinburgh obviously has a significant homeless problem and people seemed to give generously. At any time the driver or the host could easily take the money for themselves. I’m just a little mistrusting. Get an official box for the named charity and I would feel a lot more comfortable.
