Full description
The city of Dubrovnik is known for a lot of things: its UNESCO-worthy Old Town, the sprinkling of idyllic islands that surround the mainland, the ancient city walls that comprise King's Landing in the popular HBO show 'Game of Thrones'... However, one thing that Dubrovnik is not know for, and should be, is the incredible food and wine. Take a lovely guided tour of the city's World Heritage Site-listed Old Town, and visit four cozy restaurants nestled within for a taste of Dubrovnik's unique gastronomy. Walk down the beautiful cobblestone streets and alleyways of the Old Town, and pass by some of the city's major sights, including the Franziscan and Dominican monasteries, the palaces of Sponza and Rector, and the Baroque cathedral. Discover national culinary traditions through the years, and enjoy a tasting of various snacks accompanied by a glass of local wine. Finish the fun food adventure at a cute patisserie within the ancient walls of Old Town for a taste of traditional Croatian cake.

The food spots were excellent. A glass of wine is provided at three of the four stops and alcohol is offered at the last with cake. The amount of food is relatively light but it’s good for trying different things at each restaurant. Maria explains a lot of extra things about Croatia that we didn’t expect to get on a food tour. It was very interesting to hear what Croatians eat and how they prepare their meals. I would definitely recommend!

Ana gave us a tasty bite of Dubrovnik

We had a wonderful day eating our way through Dubrovnik with our local guide Ana. She is very sweet, started with a very interesting history tour of the city and afterwards took us to four restaurants tucked away from the main tourist route. Really nice choices both in terms of restaurant ambience as well as menu selection! We loved each one of them and returned to few during the rest of our stay. Ana even sent us a big list of her favourite food places in Mostar and Split as tip for our next destinations. Thank you very much for the beautiful day!

This was the perfect tour. Ana was just amazing. Her historical knowledge and personal experiences would make this a very special event, even without the food and wine. But when you add in the food element - wow. The venues we visited were all quite different and we were treated to some wonderful Croatian specialties. Although we likened it to a tapas tour, in fact the food was substantial and we were happy to skip our evening meal. The walking is not too arduous and because you’re not actually going inside the beautiful buildings and churches, it leaves plenty to do on the next visit. Informative, entertaining and tasty - the perfect combination. If you want to do a tour in Dubrovnik, pick this one.
