Full description

The starting point for this tour will be from Pile Park Beach. Everyone will receive equipment and then your guide will give you a short explanation of the basics of kayaking, paddling, safety and similar issues. First, go around the city walls passing near the old town port and going all the way to Betina Cave, where you will have a half an hour break for a snack, snorkeling, swimming, and cliff jumping. Afterwards, continue with your tour and paddle around the beautiful Lokrum Island with several stops at caves and various bays. You will also get to explore the Dubrovnik city walls from the water.

The tour was very nice and the weather cooperated well. We had a small and pleasant group with a friendly guide who explained a lot to us about the history of Dubrovnik. Also very nice to get a different view of Lokrum Island and drive along the coast. However, it would have been nicer to stay a little longer in the Betina cave, as we were only able to stay there for 15 minutes instead of 30 minutes as promised. Nevertheless, I can recommend it very well.

Good knowledge of the Lokrum Island and the various coves / caves, but Betina we should have gone in the cave on the left as easy to take the kayak in, but the guide took the group to the right over rocks and swirling water, which was difficult to negotiate. Older and less mobile people would have struggled to negotiate. Hence 3 star for guide. Really good, enjoyed the trip, but hard work against the window and waves on the way back, but managed it. Some not in our group had to be towed back. Goes without saying check the weather.

A great kayaking experience, with beautiful natural places to visit. However, the cave is already crowded with at least three kayaking groups and there are not enough snorkel masks per person as stated. But it’s a sporting experience worth testing!
