Full description
Explore the timeless landscape of Kakadu National Park on a 13-hour tour through its beauty and diversity. Discover mangrove-fringed coastal areas that blend into expansive flood plains, lowland hills flanked to the east by sandstone escarpments, all interwoven between various open woodland and forest habitats. Teeming with wildlife in the water, land, and air, the many species that provide a diversity and concentration seen nowhere else add to the natural spectacle. See how the land takes on different forms and colors with the passing of each season. Travel across the Adelaide River and Marrakai Plains, and stop at Nourlangie Rock, where your guide will lead a walk to view the ancient Aboriginal rock art. After lunch, join a local guide for a cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong. Search for saltwater crocodiles and the colorful range of birdlife for which this region is renowned. Then, visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre to view the informative displays depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people, before your return to Darwin. There is also the opportunity for an optional 50-minute scenic flight (own expense) for a different perspective of this vibrant landscape.

Very interesting and entertaining day trip

The pick up at the cruise terminal was absolutely punctual, the breaks during the long drive to Kakadu Park sufficient. Our bus driver, who also took over the complete guest information to everything, was very competent and friendly. From the boat tour with the crocodiles, we had promised a little more, except that it's free living crocodiles. We would do the 13 hour trip again and again.

Magnificent

Jeff our guide was informative, funny and attentive. The whole tour was run exceptionally well and as we had three children with us, this was crucial for us. We would recommend this tour to all - we learnt and saw so much including crocs wallabies water pythons and dingoes. Absolutely amazing

tour was good but unhappy with GYG not showing us as Seniors.

The AAT Kings tour was very good though taxing and extended in duration to about 15 hours due to an injury to one of the group. Also, my wife and I were unhappy that we had to pay full ticket costs for entry to the National Park because GYG had not shown us as Seniors in the list of passengers supplied to the tour company, AAT Kings. This cost us an extra $20. Perhaps GYG will refund the difference? If you book direct with AATKings the ticket price is included saving inconvenience and possible embarrassment compared with being singled out to pay before the bus departs. You should seriously consider the overnight option.
