The tour was excellent, I was shocked to find that the ticket to Robben Island was R380 and I have paid R1920. 00 for my husband and I. I was picked from Camps bay which is +- R120 using the Uber. I stil dont understand why I had to pay double.

Was great to be picked up from our hotel and to be presented with our tickets by the driver. The experience was stress free. A highlight of the experience was actually getting to see and hear from a political prisoner of the apartheid regime who showed us the cell that Nelson Mandela occupied while serving time on Robben Island.

Fascinating, sobering, saddening, optimistic experience

I remember the dreadful days of apartheid and reading about the sentences given to brave people who fought for basic civil rights in their own homeland. I’m proud that an Australian Prime Minister, Bob Hawke, was instrumental in the embargoes that helped finally break this hideous regime. Mandela was but one of the heroic souls who endured and the wives and children knew tremendous suffering too. A sobering, saddening but ultimately inspiring experience.
